AVALANCHE BLASTING
Drone
blasting system
The high-altitude drone is a drone system developed by Höhenarbeit GmbH specifically for the purpose of dispersing avalanches. The system has been officially granted Class 1, Category C approval by AustroControl, Austria’s aviation authority. A strong flight performance and long flight times facilitate its use high up in the Alps.
Industry standard Emulex AV cartridges are used. These are attached to a long rope which is normally between 40m to 60m in length. The drone then flies to the pre-programmed blast point. The charge is subsequently detonated electronically by radio and the next load can be mounted without the need to land in between.
